The phenomenon of the schools of sardines is best experienced while freediving, penetrating the schools of sardines and watching the different shapes form and disperse, and then come together again in amazing wonder. In the south of Cebu in the Philippines, Moalboal is well-known for scuba diving as there is incredible wall dives just right out from shore. It is here in Panagsama beach (August 2014) where the sardines gather, in the past they used to be at Pescador Island. Now they are just a step away from shore, just dive in and explore!
