PHOTO REPORT: Kawasan Falls in Badian, Cebu
September 2, 2014
Just 17km south of Panagsama beach in Badian, is the refreshing waterfalls of Kawasan. It is best explored by motorbike from Moalboal. Driving down you can enjoy scenic roads with lush paddy fields and vegetation, and also see the local life such as the local elementary schools, markets, churches, and even a rooster-fighting arena! Pick up some food like Lechon Manok (grilled chicken) and fresh fruit from the Badian market, if not you can find restaurants by the water at Kawasan Falls. Accommodation is also available at Kawasan Falls should you decide to spend the night there. Definitely a great way to be relaxing in the comforts of nature. Bamboo trees surround the forest and the waters are refreshingly cool and clear.
The first level of waterfalls. Rafts are available for 300 pesos though it is really not necessary unless you cannot swim, life jackets are available for rent as well.
Different shades of green and blue.
Keep walking past the first level of waterfalls and you will reach a second one perfect for swimming and relaxing. There is also a short rope swing if you wish to have some fun! Like the first level waterfalls, there are restaurants and huts for shelter.
If you continue pass the second level of waterfalls, you can follow an easy trail, crossing a few bamboo bridges and reach a section of smaller falls. The bamboo trees here are amazing.
A fantastic way to spend a relaxing sunny day at Kawasan Falls.
